Training
Our helpers attend basic training on household cleaning, washing, ironing, cooking, English & Chinese languages in their home country’s training centre before they are ready to be interviewed by our clients. Upon confirmation by an employer, they are given intense training on their main job scope while awaiting to report to work in Singapore.
We will receive the foreign domestic helpers when they arrive in Singapore before having them undergo a comprehensive medical examination and Settling In Programme (SIP). This process is usually completed within 1-2 days after arrival in Singapore. With the SIP which is conducted by NTUC Learning Hub, additional training on safe working environment for the foreign domestic helpers will be provided to better understand on the safety measurements she has to take note when working in employer’s house. Through guided training, the most relevant skills will be brushed up on during their SIP.
It is important that the foreign domestic helpers feel more at home in Singapore. Therefore, we provide one to one, a brief cultural orientation and training to help them better understand our societal norms and expectations from their employers in local centre. We are confident that helpers benefit and are able to improve their performance under the appropriate training and mentoring.
